Yeah he is right. It is the Playmemories App for PS4 he is referring to. Load it up and what Shuhei quoted comes up in the app.

Works with me, what type of file are you using? Also have you tried Netflix? People who use it for 4K streaming say it works as well.

Wrong. PS4 does NOT support 4K video playback, I’ve tried multiple times. “files not supported”.

That’s for 4K 60hz. It can still work but won’t output more than 24 FPS (or something close to it) which is perfect for movies.

here’s the issue, 4K required HCDP 2.2 to work, i don’t believe that xbox one or PS4 that the capability as HCDP 2.2 was made the standard AFTER the release of XB1 and PS4.

Maybe but I doubt Sony would go the extra mile to promote a new video game console just for that little feature. 4K can be streamed or downloaded as an alternative. Also the fact that Sony isn’t denying the rumors of a more powerful PS4 ads weight to its credibility.

Yes for streaming but the theory is the ps4k will add the new UHD reading drive that are starting to be sold for UHD blurays.
