Creator and Director of Shenmue 3, Yu Suzuki, has announced a delay for the highly anticipated sequel. The new launch date is now scheduled for second half of 2018.
This doesn’t really come as a surprise as Yu is dealing with a realitvely small team for a game that requires a lot of attention to detail. We have also yet to see an official gameplay video though according to Yu he will only show it when it’s ready to be shown.
I’m honestly not bothered by this as game delays aren’t exactly new. A second half of 2018 also seems more reasonable. Hopefully this year we would get a better look at how Shenmue 3 is shaping up.
Hopefully this delay will give SEGA the opportunity to release the long rumored Shenmue HD collection.
