Fan Remakes X-Wing Using Unity Engine

While watching the climactic battle of Rogue One I couldn’t shake the nostalgic feeling of wanting to jump into an X-Wing and blast some Tie Fighters. Classic PC flight sim X-Wing and Tie Fighter was the cure for that itch but needless to say we want a new one!

One fan has managed to give us a glimpse of what a new X-Wing could look like if made in today’s graphics. Keep in mind this is made by one guy because he couldn’t get his favorite Mac version to work.

This is still in prototype stage and for all we know it may never be released (especially if Disney or EA decides to throw a C&D).

X-Wing and mostly Tie Fighter are often considered to be one of the best PC games of all time and for good reason. It had great atmosphere and setting that captured the original trilogy like no other Star Wars game except a few (Dark Forces). Most of the recent games like Battlefront do a good job in the presentation department but us fans all want a new entry in the space sim. Throw in VR support and we’re looking at THE Star Wars game we’ve been years to play.

The Old Republic’s Latest Expansion Trailer Brings Out The Best in Star Wars

How “Star Wars should be represented” has often been tossed around by fans and critics alike. One side feels it should go back and stick to the classic formula while others want to see it go in a new direction. The Old Republic’s latest trailer proves that new isn’t bad for Star Wars.

In less than 3 days the trailer has racked up more than a million views and well deserved. Excellent story telling, great animations (especially that bridge fight scene), and mind blowing visuals. I haven’t played much of The Old Republic but this new trailer seems to have gotten me hyped to say the least. If only this was a single player game…

Star Wars Rogue One Reel Looks Promising

Star Wars Rogue One has been receiving some bumpy rumors. Long story short Disney execs weren’t exactly pleased and reshoots had to be done. The new celebrations released has shown some promising footage. I have to say this makes me feel a whole let better and now more than excited to see it. No Darth Vader footage has been revealed but we all know he’ll be in it.

Star Wars Rogue One hits theaters December 16.

The First PS4 Game That Made Me Enjoy Couch CO-OP

The LEGO video game franchise has been widely successful and for good reason. They’re fun, friendly, and easy to play. Of course a big chunk of that is owed to the fact that their tied to major IPs, one of which is Star Wars. In fact LEGO Star Wars is where it all began and it’s only fitting that its newest title based on The Force Awakens is the strongest entry yet.

This of course is helped by couch co-op a feature we are barely seeing this generation. I mean I have a PlayStation 4 with 2 controllers and they’re mostly limited to fighting games. It’s refreshing to see a full-fledged adventure game take advantage of this feature.

Fans Bring Back Battlefront 3 on Steam. Will Be Released for Free.

In a crazy and quite honestly risky move, a group of developers called Front Wire are bringing back the cancelled Star Wars Battlefront 3 as a free game called Galaxy in Turmoil. Making things even stranger is the fact Valve themselves will allow Front Wire to feature the game on their Steam store.

It is with great pleasure that as of today I am able to officially announce that Frontwire Studios has officially signed a distribution deal with Steam/Valve for the game Galaxy in Turmoil. After ongoing discussion between Valve Representatives and myself, Valve/Steam has agreed to ship Galaxy in Turmoil to it’s millions of users for FREE.

Of course the big question will Disney interfere in the matter?

On a final note; People have been expressed their concern as of late, saying they expect us to get a Cease & Desist from Disney. I’ll be honest – I’ve had mild concerns myself from time to time. However Valve clearly lacks that same concern. By agreeing to publish Galaxy in Turmoil, Valve is assisting us in growing and ensuring the longevity of the Galaxy in Turmoil project and community as a whole.

The game isn’t live yet but is expected to launch real soon. Interested in seeing how long this lasts and hopefully Disney would turn a blind eye. Ah, who am I kidding. This game is dead on arrival.
